Two teens arrested in Lapeer area break-in

Lapeer County Sheriff’s Deputies are announcing the arrest of two individuals believed to have robbed an Elba Township business last week. Deputies were called to the business in the 1400 block of Hadley Road Wednesday evening on reports of a burglary in process. Upon arrival, 19 year old Philip Burke from Lapeer was found in an outbuilding on the property and was taken into custody. After a short search with a K-9 unit, Sheriff’s deputies were able to find a second suspect, 19 year old Allen Ahrens also from Lapeer who was also hiding in an another outbuilding. The two are believed to have rummaged through two barns and were not given permission to be on the property. They are currently being held in the Lapeer County Jail and are expected to face breaking and entering charges.
