Tonight is parade night in Downtown Port Huron, which means tomorrow night is family night! A Blue Water Fest tradition occurring on the Thursday before Boat Night, family night features free family friendly activities for kids of all ages. Natalie Watson, Director of the Port Huron Downtown Development Authority says there will be face painting, a petting zoo, live music, mascots, and much more all thanks to Operation Transformation. The family night activities will take place along the Black River between St. Clair County Community College and the 10th Street Bridge Thursday between 5 and 9pm. Watson says tomorrow night also sees several other events take place during the Blue Water Festival. Local dance and music groups will be performing at the Huron Avenue stage, and the first night of the Boats and Boots country music concerts featuring Lonestar will take place in the south McMorran lot. Fireworks will be launched at dusk from Desmond Landing. The carnival also opens this afternoon and runs trough Saturday.
