The Detroit Tigers ended a nine game losing streak on Friday night, out slugging the New York Mets 9-8 in New York. The Mets belted five home runs in the game, but Jacoby Jones hit a home run and drove in four runs for the Tigers, while Miguel Cabrera added a home run and two RBI. Game two of a three game series is set for Saturday afternoon.
