Crash near Lexington sends Port Huron man to jail

One is in custody after an accident near Lexington yesterday evening. According to the Sanilac County Sheriff’s Department, deputies were called to a crash involving three vehicles on South Lakeshore Road near Mortimer Line Road in Worth Township around 5pm Thursday. A pickup truck operated by a 19 year old Port Huron was traveling through a construction zone on Lakeshore Road when authorities say he rear-ended another pickup that was stopped due to the construction. The second pickup then crossed the center line into the path of an oncoming minivan, injuring the four occupants of the truck and the  35 year old Lexington woman who was driving the van. The occupants of the truck were treated at the scene for their injuries and the Lexington woman was transported to a Port Huron hospital for treatment. The Port Huron man was arrested for multiple violations as well as an outstanding warrant and is currently lodged at the Sanilac County Jail where he is expected to face multiple charges.
