Port Huron City Council to discuss contracts, sewer and road repairs

Port Huron City Council meets tonight where they are expected to approve bids for road and sewer repairs. Council tonight will be asked to approve a $284,000 bid from Murray Underground for sewer work and a $134,000 bid to Michigan Pipe Inspection for sewer inspections. Members will also be presented with a bid from the Michigan Department of Transportation for the reconstruction of 13th street from Water Street to Lapeer Avenue in the city. That project would cost a total of nearly $1.6 million with about half of the funds coming from the state and half from the city. Three budget related public hearing will also take place at tonight’s regular session meeting at 7pm, which will follow a special closed session meeting to discuss contract negotiations, at the Port Huron Municipal Office Center.
