The St. Clair County Regional Educational Service Agency will be overhauling it’s transition program, formerly operated by the Virtual Learning Academy. The Transition program, which helps disabled individuals ages 18-through-26, will now be known as the Student Transition Experience Program – or Next S.T.E.P. – and will move to the campus of St. Clair County Community College. RESA says the partnership with SC4 means students with disabilities will be able to interact with peers in a campus environment. The Next STEP Program will occupy two rooms at the college when classes begin in the fall. One for training for developing work skills and the other to resemble a traditional classroom. RESA approved the move at it’s board meeting earlier this month.
