The City of Port Huron wants your help in shaping the legislative priorities for city council over the next year. A goal setting session will be held this coming Tuesday, February 19th, and Port Huron Mayor Pauline Repp would like to hear your input. Those with ideas to benefit the city can share their suggestions with the City Clerk’s office, or, send an email to CommunityComments@porthuron.org. Repp adds that one of the priorities for the next year will be parks and recreation, with the city applying for a multitude of grants to benefit area parks. She says the city has applied for a grant to redo the playground at 16th and Dove Streets, as well as additional grants to help fund the McMorran plaza refurbishment. It was announced last year that the city received a 350-thousand dollar grant from the Ralph C. Wilson Junior foundation to build an outdoor ice skating rink in front of McMorran Place.
