Port Huron City Manager James Freed will not be leaving for Grand Rapids. At a meeting last night in Michigan’s Second largest city, commissioners voted unanimously not to hire any of the finalists for the job and start its search over. Grand Rapids is the largest city in Michigan that has a city manager structure. Concerns about the candidates experience and diversity were brought up during the interview process. Freed was one of three finalists for the job.
