Marysville gets awarded for their engineering

The city of Marysville has won some awards recently for excellence in engineering. The American Council of Engineering Companies of Michigan recongnized the city with a merit award during the association’s annual ceremony. Water treatment Plant Supervisor Bari Wrubel presented it to the Marysville City Council Monday night, but the city also received an unexpected award says City Manager Randy Fernandez. Marysville was given the People’s Choice Award for best engineering project. The awards are held annually and recognize projects that have a profound effect on the quality of life of Michigan residents. Marysville City Manager Randy Fernandez has also been honored with the Taubman Fellowship by the the South East Michigan Council of Governments, for which he beat out six finalists to get. Fernandez will attend three weeks of executive leadership training at Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government. He says people come from all over the United States to train at the business school. Fernandez also received a contract extension Monday night by the city council.
