Lake Bonisteel to auction off instruments

The Lake Bonisteel Music Association will present an orphan Instrument Auction and Concert on Saturday, March 5, in the ballroom above Tio Gordos Cocina at 321 Huron Avenue, in downtown Port Huron. A number of vintage and unusual instruments were donated to the Lake Bonisteel Music Association near the end of 2015, They are being auctioned off to raise funds for the LBMA Gary Sargent Memorial Music Scholarship. A portion of the proceeds will also go to the 2016 Blue ChilliGrass Festival. As each instrument is introduced, musicians will incorporate it into a performance before they auction it off. Performers confirmed at this time are Carl Henry, the Gasoline Gypsies, Alex Holycross of the Native Howl, The Barones, The Heritage String Band and a Special presentation from a group of area All-Stars. Doors open at 6 pm to preview the instruments, and the auction and concert begin at 7 pm.
