New administrator time for the St. Clair County Board of Commissioners. County Administrator Bill Kauffman will be leaving the governmental unit after some 25-years of employment. Commission Chair Jeff Bohm, Commissioner Bill Gratopp, and Kauffman made the announcement official Tuesday afternoon. Bohm says a search for a new administrator will begin immediately, with the first order of business being to check with local officials across the county for any advice. Kauffman says he will be retiring at the end of May. Bohm expects to have at least an interim administrator by the retirement date.
