Police have identified victims of Friday Morning crash in Clyde Township

The names of the victims in the crash that closed down North Road in Clyde Township this morning have been identified. 28 year-old Jason Shultz of Clyde Township was operating a tow truck and pulling a vehicle out of the ditch on North Road, when a 2012 Jeep driven by an 18 year-old Fort Gratiot Township man attempted to pass the tow truck on the shoulder and hit Schultz, killing him instantly. The Jeep also hit the cable that was pulling the vehicle from the ditch. The driver in the ditch, 21 year-old Cody Hilliker of Burtchville Township, was in his vehicle and was injured in the crash. Tri Hospital EMS and the Fort Gratiot Fire Department assisted at the scene of the crash, which remains under investigation. The 18 year old Fort Gratiot man was taken to the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office for questioning.
