New Haven bus driver arrested after crash

A New Haven School bus driver was arrested on Friday, for Operating While Intoxicated. The bus driver, a 49 year-old Lenox Township woman, crashed the bus she was driving into a parked vehicle around 8:00 am Friday morning. There were six children on the bus at the time of the crash, none were injured. When Macomb County Deputies arrived at the scene, the woman was slurring and she was unsteady on her feet. She was given a series of field sobriety test, after which she was arrested. Deputies discovered a pill container in her purse, which contained various prescription medications, including Schedule 4 narcotics. A search warrant was obtained to have her blood drawn and tested for the presence of drugs. The driver was lodged in the Macomb County Jail. On Saturday, an interim bond hearing was held, with the initial charge being Possession of Analogues. She was given a $20,000 cash only bond, which she posted and was released. Additional charges are pending blood analysis and upon further review of the case by the Macomb County Prosecutor's Office.
