Red Kettle Campaign ongoing in St. Clair County

The sounds of ringing bells at many retail locations here in St. Clair County means the Salvation Army Volunteers are out their ringing their bells for their annual Red Kettle Campaign, which started November 13th. So far they have raised over $45,000 towards their $405,000 goal. All Red Kettle donations stay in St. Clair County and are used to meet the program needs of the local Salvation Army unit. In St. Clair County, the Salvation Army serves over 7,500 individuals each year through a wide variety of programs. They also will be providing a traditional Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday from 12:00-2:00 PM, where they plan on serving over 400 people this year. They continue to not only need donations, but also many volunteers to ring the bell, says Major Kirk Schuetz(Sheets), Corps Officer at the Salvation Army of Port Huron.
