A Bridge hampton Township private plane crash reported in Sanilac County Tuesday afternoon. The pilot and passenger, a 69-year-old male and 64-year-old female from Harrison Township, were found outside of the upside down two-seater alert but in some need of medical assistance. Both were transported to Mckenzie Memorial Hospital but were alert and outside of the plane when deputies arrived. The crash occurred at about 2-26-pm when the pilot had just left Sandusky airport. He said he was experiencing mechanical problems and attempted to land along Ruth Road but had to veer off into a field due to traffic conditions. The Sheriff’s Office was assisted on scene by the Carsonville Fire Department, Sanilac EMS and the Sandusky Airport. The names of the individuals are being withheld pending the ongoing investigation by the Federal Aviation Administration.
