Road work on area freeways has caused some headaches for drivers over the past years, but that should be over for interstate drivers now as work on I94 and I69 is finally coming to an end. All freeways and business loops are open on I-69/I-94 in Port Huron, Michigan Road still remains closed but is expected to reopen in Mid-October. Lane closures will occur over the next month to facilitate clean-up work. MDOT spokesperson, Diane Cross, says that she is happy to get these projects done and to get some commerce into Michigan. Over the past 9 years MDOT has reconstructed more than 30 miles of freeway and 17 bridges along I-94. Next spring MDOT will finish up the project with some landscaping.
