McMorran Authority still weighs options

The McMorran Authority has heard from both parties interested in purchasing the McMorran Pavilion. St. Clair County Community and Port Huron Minor Hockey Association have presented their proposals, but before the authority makes a decision they want their consulting firm to review the viability of both proposals. Mark Neal, Chairman of the Authority, says it could take another month before the authority makes a decision. Chairman Neal tells us the authority has been reviewing operations at McMorran for quite a while. The Authority then brought in B&D consultants from Washington D.C. which has offices in Detroit. B & D recommended making McMorran a multipurpose facility, rather than strictly for hockey. Once the Authority makes their decision they must first submit it to the City Council for final approval.
