If any non-profit organizations would like to start a training program to help low-income women, the United Way of St. Clair County would like to help. The United Way is requesting proposals for training programs to help low-income women between the ages of 25-60 obtain employment skills. Programs will help the women with resume preparation, interview skills, and proper dress attire. Grant funding is designed for programs six weeks in duration and grants valued at $7500 are available with a minimum of 20 women served in the program. Any non-profit organization may apply for grant funding by submitting a letter of intent to the United Way of St. Clair County through their website at: UWST CLAIR.ORG. All letters of intent must be submitted by September 4th, with only one letter accepted per organization.
