POPULATION INCREASES NOTED IN MICHIGAN AREAS IN 2013

Ottawa County led 35 counties in the state that saw their populations increase from 2012 to 2013, at least in terms of percentage. St. Clair County’s 2013 estimate is 160,469 which is down a couple hundred from 2012 but is much less than the near one thousand lost in each of the last two prior years.  Michigan’s population is pegged at 9,895,622 for 2013 according to the latest figures from the U.S. Census Bureau. Macomb is among those that saw an increase thanks to migration into the county.
