It's a stay of a demolition order for a house owned by a 69-year old Port Huron resident. A special meeting Monday night for the Port Huron City Council saw them unanimously approving to suspend the demolition order for the home at 1419 Lapeer owned by Henry Hudson. Mayor Pauline Repp says Hudson acquired the property the same week the property's previous owner had told the city that he wasn't going to make the needed repairs or pay the taxes owed. Last week saw the council voting to move towards demolition. City Planner Kim Harmer says Hudson has already made several repairs to the property and the if the work is not completed in the next 90-days the council could revisit the item.
