BRICK BOGGED DREYER MAKES IT ACROSS LAKE ST. CLAIR
West Michigan's Jim Dreyer was successful in his attempt to swim across Lake St. Clair to bring attention to Habitat for Humanity of Michigan. The Byron Center ultra endurance swimmer completed his effort this Wednesday by making it to Belle Isle in Detroit after beginning his trip in Algonac Monday morning. The 30-hour feat was even more impressive as Dreyer towed a ton of bricks in two small boats behind him for the 22-mile swim. Dreyer, who calls himself "The Shark", says he battled three to four foot waves overnight. The 49-year-old has made direct crossings of each of the five Great Lakes.
