Two counts of Open Murder, two counts of Torture, one count of Criminal Sexual Conduct and Third Degree Habitual Offender... those are the charges facing a 31-year old Port Huron man, arraigned Tuesday for the double homicide last week at an apartment complex on Port Huron's north side.  Police Captain Jeff Baker says the case began last Tuesday evening as officers were called out on a suspicious incident complaint at the Gratiot Village apartment complex along Riverview Street.  26-year old Melissa Ichenberg and 29-year old Daniel McRoberts were found dead inside an apartment.  The Medical Examiner's Office says Ichenberg was strangled to death and McRoberts died of multiple stab wounds.  The suspect, 31-year old Manuel Gamez, is being held without bond at the St. Clair County Jail.  He's due back in District Court on August 20 for a preliminary examination.  If convicted he could be facing a sentence of up to life behind bars.
