The Sanilac County Sheriff's Office says a 48-year-old Lexington resident was found floating face down in two feet of water Thursday in Lake Huron at the foot of Lake Street in the Village of Lexington. The man has a history of medical problems and was out cooling off on a float in about two feet of water. Nearby swimmers noticed he was face down in the water and pulled him to shore, where C.P.R. was started. Sanilac Sheriff's Deputies, along with Lexington Fire Rescue and Croswell EMS responded and he was taken to an area hospital, where he remains in critical condition. Officials say it's still unclear whether a medical event occurred first prior to the man overturning in the water. The incident remains under investigation.
