SAFETY DURING THE SUMMERTIME MEANS BE SUMMERWISE
The bangs and booms of fireworks are here, but you really should leave them to the professionals. That's the advice from Port Huron Police Captain Jeff Baker as we enjoy the summertime. He says the number one tip is to be mindful of your neighbors, and those who have young children at home. Other summer safety tips include being mindful of water safety and how strong the current can be in the St. Clair River. He says every summer sees more than a few who jump in, only to become distressed and need rescuing. And he says with kids out of class for the summer, drivers need to be aware they'll be out around town riding their bikes and skateboards, or running around the streets.
