JURY DUTY PROCESS TO BE STREAMLINED

St. Clair County Clerk's Office is looking at a streamlined jury service process as they research ways in which to make the system more efficient and less expensive.  County Clerk, Jay DeBoyer, says the current system is too expensive and too cumbersome, as well as labor intensive. DeBoyer says, a new system would also be a better way for citizens to serve on jury duty by making it just a one-week commitment, instead of the current one-month commitment.  It would also make it more convenient for employers.  DeBoyer says a new system would save about $30-thousand dollars a year once in place, with implementation expected by early next year.
