THOSE SUMMER DAYS ARE HERE
The pools are open, school's out, and summer's here... so what's the weather going to be like? It should be a fairly typical summer for us here in southeast Michigan, according to forecaster Sara Schultz at the National Weather Service, who tells us for the next couple months the jet stream will be right where it should be. The weekend warm-up for us is also expected to bring a chance of showers and thunderstorms, but no severe weather is expected at this time. Today, in addition to being the first day of summer, also marks the first Ozone Action Day of the season. Schultz says the long term outlook for summer sees a forecast of average temperatures in the 80s, along with normal precipitation levels. The second half of July and into August will have temperatures above normal levels.
