COUNTY TESTS EMERGENCY RESPONSE EFFECTIVENESS
We hope we never find out, but if the worst occurs then, we hope there's a plan in place...and that it works. That's the emergency response scenario tested Wednesday, by the St. Clair County Health Department at Port Huron High School, as they invited the public to show up and take part in the simulation. According to the county's Diane Forys, a few hundred showed up, with test results to be analyzed and coordinated with other health departments around Michigan. The test involved a “What If” scenario, of a biological pathogen getting out and infecting the public, and how fast preventive medications could be dispensed. Forys says, other simulations and tests will be conducted in the future.
