INFRASTRUCTURE OF THE GREENEST KIND

It's all about the green these days... as in green infrastructure.  It's not just grass and trees and parks, it's also about rain gardens and bioswales that preserve the functions of natural ecosystems and benefit residents in the region.  The Southeast Michigan Council of Governments is going around to 7 counties this summer, getting public input on what kind of green infrastructure residents want and need, as in types that not only help the environment, but also make for a better place to live.  A public session will be held, on Wednesday, at the Acheson Ventures Seaway Terminal along Military Street.  Everyone's invited to take part, with keypads used to identify important policies to help communities implement green infrastructure recommendations. It starts at 6:00 p.m..
