A Port Huron man charged with open murder in connection with the throat-slashing death of a 26-year old man was bound over, Tuesday, to St. Clair County Circuit Court for arraignment. 52-year-old Michael Poole is being held, at the St. Clair County Jail, without bond. The incident happened Friday June 7th, along the 600-block of Stanton Street, as several people including Poole and the victim David Long were sitting around a bonfire. Witnesses indicated that the two men had been involved in a dispute throughout the day and engaged in confrontation while at the fire. Poole allegedly approached Long and cut his throat with a knife. Long died of his injuries at a local hospital. Poole was arrested at his home the next morning. A date in Circuit Court for a preliminary exam will be set in the next couple weeks.
