STUDENT HOUSING GETS A DOWNTOWN LOOK
The availability of student housing in downtown Port Huron has long been talked about, and now it's a reality as a new project has opened. The development is along the 300-block of Superior Mall, with two units having been converted into 4-bedroom living spaces for up to eight occupants, complete with a host of amenities and features. The project saw a grand opening Monday, with Port Huron Mayor Pauline Repp in attendance for the ribbon cutting. The student housing project was headed up by local developer Larry Jones, who's also behind work next to the development at the Cajun Gator restaurant at the site of the former Huron Athletic Club, as well as the rehabilitation of the Sperry's building.
