SUMMER READING COULD BE A BLAST
Local State Rep. Dan Lauwers, from Brockway Township, has announced that he's sponsoring a summer reading contest for local elementary school students to help them retain and improve their reading skills during the next few months. Elementary school students in the 81st House District are eligible, and students or parents can submit the titles of completed books and the pages read by email. Each submission is another entry in the contest and, one student from each local school district with the highest number of total pages read will be given a pizza party in their new class in the fall, courtesy of Lauwers. Contest winners will be determined in early September, and for more information call toll free at (877) DAN-8181, or through e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org.
