BE A TOURIST DAY SATURDAY

How familiar are you with your own hometown?  Have you been to Vantage Point?  The Knowlton Ice Museum?  Maybe you've heard about it, but have you actually climbed the 188 steps of the McMorran Tower?  If you haven't, Saturday's your chance to get out and see lots of local attractions and take part in several activities, as Port Huron hosts the 11th annual Be A Tourist in Your Own Town event. Judi Stewart, at the Blue Water Area Convention and Visitors Bureau, says there'll be lots of choices to choose from, such as the Blue Water YMCA, Studio 1219, the Thomas Edison Depot Museum, the Natural Science Museum at St. Clair County Community College, and lots more.  Most of the attractions are free, and it takes place Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m..  Call the Visitors Bureau at 987-8687 for more information or, go online to bluewater.org.
