The I-69 corridor almost became our own tornado alley Tuesday night as a storm tore into Saint Clair County after causing damage in parts of Lapeer and Genesee counties. Early reports indicated homes were damaged or destroyed near Goodrich High School. A bar collapsed, a barn was destroyed, and several trees saw tops sheered off. No initial injuries in the storm that continued east after the tornado warning had expired. Power outages were the main problem in Saint Clair County which was cause for concern for some businesses and schools. Gardens Elementary in Marysville, and Thomas Edison Elementary in Port Huron had to shut down because of power outages which kept about a thousand students home. Forecasters say only a 20% chance of showers expected Wednesday.
