Another special meeting and another round of layoffs expected, next week, in the Port Huron Area School District.  Last night Board of Education members were updated on a variety of topics and agreed, with President Jeff Stout, to hold a session on the 29th at the McKinley building to determine staffing for the next year.  The meeting will get underway at 5:30 p.m.. Last night board members heard an update on the closing of Lakeport Elementary.  Students will be divided between Thomas Edison and Keewahdin with various special open houses and parent-teacher-student meetings planned.  Board members also, last night, approved the appointments of a trio of administrative changes including the permanent placement of Benjamin Brock as principal of Port Huron High. John Eastman will be his assistant.  Also approved Richard Mousigian, from Croswell-Lexington, as the district’s new Tech Director.
