St. Clair County will be showin' the love to our visitors from Canada on Monday with the first-ever Canadian Appreciation Day event. The aim is to show how much of an impact our Canadian visitors have on our local economy, and to recognize that we'd all be quite a bit poorer without them. Dan Casey is the CEO of the Economic Development Alliance of St. Clair County. Casey says Canadian visitors contribute about $60-million dollars annually to the local area. Many of the local shops, restaurants and businesses are encouraged to offer specials, discounts and promotions during this long holiday weekend with Victoria Day in Canada on Monday. Casey says the event is also being promoted in the Sarnia, Lambton, and London areas.
