Federal money for help with the neighborhoods... that's the Annual Action Plan, for the Community Development Block Grant and Home program, approved this week by the Port Huron City Council. City Planner, Kim Harmer, says the purpose of the plan is to help with city sidewalks, providing paint for local homes, aiding the elderly with home maintenance issues and the like. She says, the CDBG funding has declined recently, with about $650-thousand dollars or less expected this year. The month of May will also see a push for neighborhood cleanup events with the annual Clean Sweep for Port Huron.
