So Bluewater Fest is here, and that means the Carnival is in town! I went the other day, and it was a blast. Tons of great rides, fun games (I spent waaaaaay too much money winning my girlfriend a stuffed animal), and amazing junk food! I had the best corndog I've ever eaten in my life, and the deep fried oreos are pretty awesome too! The morale of the story is: go to the carnival if you can, it's a great time!
Red Wings Captain Nicklas Lidstrom has retired, and I have to say, I'm pretty sad about it. I'm a younger guy, so I've seen Lidstrom play for pretty much my entire life. The guy is a sure fire Hall-of-Famer, and seems to be a genuinely awesome and nice person, and the state of Michigan will definetly miss him. It'll be very strange for me to see the Red Wings without him. Some of you might not understand, but as a huge sports nut and Wings fan, I've been kind of down all weekend because of it. Yeah I know it's kind of dumb, but it's the truth. At least summer is pretty much here, I think once the lake warms up that'll cheer me up!
So I used to hate the gym. I'm still not exactly a huge fan. But lately I've been pushing myself and making sure I go 3 or 4 times a week, and it's really been paying off. I've lost some fat and gained a ton of muscle, and I'm not even dieting or anything. I guess the moral of the story is, if you want to get back in shape for the summer, lose a few extra pounds, or maybe a lot of pounds, or whatever, you should really push yourself to do it. Trust me, I don't like going, but if you can just make the effort to get some sort of excersise on a regular basis, you should see results in about 2 weeks. I know it's hard to find that time and motivation, but if you can, you'll really feel good! Give it a try!
