CHIEF LOOKS BACK ON A COUPLE OF PRODUCTIVE YEARS

Port Huron Police Chief Michael Reaves has been at his post for a couple of years now, and he's saying that during his tenure on the job there've been a decrease in certain crimes but also an increase in others types of criminal activity.  He says property crimes and breaking and entering are the types they've seen an increase. On the whole, he says crimes are down in the city.  Tips for residents as we go through the holiday season include being aware of your surroundings, especially if you're out shopping, as most crimes tend to be of the opportunistic type, meaning don't let your guard down and make yourself an easy target for criminals.
