Flint man charged in Attica Township home invasion

A nineteen year old from Flint has been formally charged in connection to a home invasion in Lapeer County’s Attica Township earlier this week. According to Lapper County Sheriff’s Deputies, 19 year old Tatum Fike of Flint is believed to have entered a home on Hart Street in Attica around 8:30am Tuesday after reports of suspicious activity by a neighbor. After a brief foot chase, Fike was taken into custody and was lodged in the Lapeer County Jail. He has been formally charged on counts of home invasion, burglary, and malicious destruction of property. Fike has since been released from jail on a 10-thousand dollar personal recognizance bond and will appear back in court January 25th.

Authorities in Lapeer County are investigating a home invasion that occurred yesterday morning in Attica Township. According to Lapper County Sheriff’s Deputies, a Hart street resident heard strange noises coming from his neighbors house. The home owner was away and the neighbor was monitoring the house in their absence. He spotted a male wearing a hooded sweatshirt walking around the outside of the house and called 9-1-1 to report the incident. Lapeer County Sheriff’s Deputies arrived and entered into a brief foot chase with the suspect. A perimeter was established and he was taken into custody without incident. The suspect, a 19 year old Flint Man, is currently being housed in the Lapeer County Jail and will be facing criminal charges pending the results of an investigation. The Lapeer County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by officers from the Imlay City Police Department.
