Port Huron man injured in Lakeshore Road crash

A Monday morning accident on Lakeshore road involving a van and a garbage truck has sent a Port Huron Man to the hospital. According to Sanliac County Sheriff’s deputies, 33 year old Aaron Baranowsky of Port Huron was traveling on Lakeshore Road around 6:30am yesterday morning when he struck a garbage truck that was turning east onto Roehl Drive. Barnowsky called 9-1-1 to report that he was trapped inside his van and was bleeding. Burtchville Township Fire Department crews responded to the accident and extracted Barnowsky, where he was then transported by Croswell EMS to McLaren Port Huron Hospital. The driver and passenger of the garbage truck, both Waste Management Employees, were uninjured. The accident remains under investigation however Sheriff’s deputies say Baranowsky was not wearing a seat belt.
