They call it the most wonderful time of the year, and as the holidays approaches, Downtown Port Huron will be putting on some special events to welcome in the season. On Black Friday – only a week from today – Downtown Port Huron will roll out the carpet for the jolly old elf himself. It’s the Sperry’s Santa Clause parade and Downtown Development Authority director Natalie Watson says the parade will be begin at 6pm on November 23rd. It will start near Wall and Military Streets and move from south to north, ending in front of McMorran Place. The parade will be followed by a tree lighting ceremony and an opportunity for kids to meet Santa. The following day, Saturday November 24th, is Small Business Saturday. Watson says Small Business Saturday is a great way to check out some of the new businesses in downtown Port Huron. Games and prizes will be available to those who choose to shop at participating local businesses.
