Gas pumps continue their downward trend

Gas prices in Michigan have slumped to an 8 month low this past week, according to AAA of Michigan. The auto club says gas prices fell about 10 cents, to a new statewide average of $2.61 per gallon. That’s the lowest statewide average since March of this year and 15-cents lower than this time last year. The most expensive gas in the state can currently be found in the Marquette area where its $2.86 a gallon, and the lowest prices are in the Grand Rapids-Muskegon area where it is $2.47 a gallon. Locally, Port Huron area pumps are asking about $2.49 on average for a gallon of regular unleaded.
