Sheriff’s Deputies in Lapeer County are investigating a fatal accident that occurred late last week. Shortly before Midnight Friday, authorities were called to a traffic crash on Millville Road north of Mt. View Road in Lapeer County’s Mayfield Township. A 25 year old Columbiaville man was the driver and lone occupant of the vehicle which reportedly lost control and struck a tree. The victim, identified as Evan Stewart, was pronounced dead at the scene. Preliminary investigation suggest that speed over the 55 MPH speed limit may have been a factor. The accident is currently under investigation and toxicology tests are being conducted to determine if drugs or alcohol may have been a factor.
