A pitchers duel went awry on Monday night, as the Angels scored five times in the bottom of the eighth to break up a scoreless game, against the Detroit Tigers. Los Angeles won the game 5-1, following the lead of starter Jhoulys Chacin, who tossed a complete game four hitter with ten strike outs. Chacin combined with Tigers starter Justin Verlander to retire the first 27 hitters of the game. Verlander was throwing a one hit shutout through seven innings. The Tigers have lost three in a row and face the Angels again on Tuesday night.
