After several hours of interviews on Thursday, St. Clair County Commissioners made their decision on the county’s next administrator. Karry Hepting, the county’s current Finance Director will be taking over for retiring Bill Kauffman come June 1st. Hepting has worked for the county in various management positions over the last 17 years. Commissioners credited her with having extensive labor relations experience, financial reporting, and work with individual departments of the county. Her first 6 months on the job will be an interim period; giving commissioners time to make sure they made the right decision. She will be responsible for her department as well during the interim period.
