A double traffic fatality has led to a sentence for a 22 year old this week in Sanilac County. Laken Williams was sentenced to a minimum of 3 years with a maximum of 15 years incarceration on 2 counts of Reckless Driving Causing Death. The accident occurred in October of 2014 on Roach Road near Croswell Road in Lexington Township, when the vehicle Williams was driving flipped multiple times and two of the occupants were ejected. The accident resulted in 17 year old Danielle Torrez and 18 year old Dakota Moore losing their lives. Williams was driving an estimated 100 miles an hour at the time. Sanilac County Sheriff Garry Biniecki gave thanks to the Sheriff’s Office Accident Investigation team and those agencies assisting in the case. He said, following this week’s sentencing, that justice has been served and he is hopeful the families of all involved can finally have closure.
