Tree beautification

Family and friends were honored and recognized Thursday night during Port Huron's Beautification Commission's Tree Celebration Program. The program offers citizens an opportunity to have a tree planted on city property. The trees are purchased through the beautification commission and planted by the city's Parks Department. In addition to the tree celebration program the beautification commission also manages 22 flower beds throughout the city. The Tree Celebration Program is held every October to present the contributor with a certificate to recognize the donation. A permanent plaque with the name of the individual being recognized will hang in the lobby of the Municipal Office Center for all to see. If you have a questions about the tree program, or would like more information on the Beautification Commission, you can contact the City Clerk’s office at 810-984-9725,call Beautification Commission member Donna Kelly at 810-985-6418, or go online to the city of Port Huron's website at: porthuron.org.
