Over 2-million dollars in grants for a five year period was awarded to the Saint Clair County Community College this month to help with student retention. Officials have been concerned over students completing college and it is hoped the funds can help with the goal. Various internet items could help out in various software purchases like an online chat system, and career planning tools are all being looked at with the funds which come from a U.S. Department of Education program. Sc4 was one of only two community colleges in the state to be awarded the grant monies.
